Our History
When Gina DeCicco arrived in Canada from Naples, Italy she had trained in the European method of aesthetics. After settling in Kitchener-Waterloo, Gina used her extensive industry knowledge and opened Canada’s first day-spa in 1969.
Gina Studio Estético was first located in the basement of the Waterloo Hotel and later moved to Regina Street. The spa is now located on Bridgeport East.
Gina was a true pioneer, bringing a European sensibility about beauty and self-care to Kitchener-Waterloo. When she wasn’t able to find qualified staff in the area, she opened Gina’s College of Advanced Aesthetics – which now has three locations and continues to be a leading educator in the European method of aesthetics in region.
After retiring, Gina’s daughters Jenny and Cristina carried on as owners and operators of Gina’s Spa and Gina’s college respectively. Together with their expert teams, both Jenny and Cristina are dedicated to building on the reputation for excellence that their mother was known for – making Gina Studio Estético one of the most prestigious names in the industry.

Founded as Ontario’s first aesthetics spa, Gina Studio Estético has been a trusted destination for skincare, personal care, and relaxation for over 55 years. Honouring our Italian roots, we are proudly the sole importer of exclusive Italian-loved Diego Dalla Palma professional skincare and RVBLab makeup. Voted Kitchener-Waterloo’s best spa many times—and home to a best stylist winner—we’ve expanded to include a full-service hair salon, medispa, and massage department. Our focus is preventative and corrective procedures—committing to quality in every detail from the ingredients we use to the techniques and technologies we trust.
